Minute Book (signed) 1914-1916

Minutes of the Management Committee (June 1862-February 1945) - The committee met monthly to deal with all aspects of the School's life. Their minutes contain information about the staff, meals, bedding, the girls' clothing, their activities (mostly needlework, laundry, and schooling), the circumstances of their parents, reasons for committal, behaviour, and illnesses or deaths, as well as destinations and progress after leaving the home. They name a number of girls. They also include the handover of the School to the Salvation Army in 1945. There are some newspaper clippings, mostly concerning Annual General Meetings.

Noblet, Liege [Belgium] The plates show drawings of various machinery for coal mining, including carriages, compressed air system, lifts, pumps, digging machines, props, etc. and drawings of mines and coal seams of the mines of the Meuse and Ruhr. Legends at the top of each plate are in French, with English and German translations below the plate.

Consist of Meredith family correspondence, some accounts and photographs. The letters are mainly between mothers and daughters and sisters and record the life of a settler family from the point of view of the women and children of the family.

Certificates of merit awarded to John Meredith by the Glamorgan Agricultural Association.

Addressed to 'Dear Sir' (?Meredith) postponing the appointment on 'your business' and to 'My dear Madam' (?Meredith) about library books and music to be sent.

Sealskins, wool and whalebone to be shipped to London for George Meredith (1825-6); bags of carrots to Melbourne (1854), cases of fruit and bags of walnuts by East Coast Shipping Co. for John Meredith (1889), and 1 uncompleted form

Unidentified account book recording trading, shipping and other expenses (1855-6). Reference to Luckman. Later entries, roughly written, appear to relate to household type expenses.

Collection consists of five ledgers containing details of wages and accounts, rations and shearing for two properties, Morningside and Riccarton. Located at Campbell Town in northern Tasmania and owned and managed by James Mercer.
