The last entry reads: Margaret conveyed by Ambulance to St Vincents Hospital, Darlinghurst. Her brother Joe Thorp went with her - she was seen by her Doctor (Dr Green) this morning, who wisely arranged for her to go to hospital. She has a Cerebral Vascular accident, ie possibly a cerebral embolism or thrombosis or haemorrhage. This looks like the last chapter of a very wonderful & useful life. JHT

Collection consists of administrative correspondence, annual reports, minutes and financial statements regarding the schools board, and schools administration. Material relating to staff and students including the school magazine, class lists and student activities. Also included are the papers relating to the Hobartville Association from 1888 to 1910 . Also a large collection of early photographs.

Letters from Laura Allison, Hugh Synnot Hull's fiancee who he married in January 1880; mainly affectionate notes with occasional references to music; some addressed to Hughie of 'Shughie' and some addressed 'darling husband' and signed 'wifie' even before the date of the marriage. Some of Ruth Sansom's handwritten notes of her memories. These notes are in no logical order and many of the loose pages are not numbered. The material describes aspects of the Sansoms' life in England before, during and after the Second World War, life in Tasmania, work with the Education Department and return visits to England in 1961 and 1978. Topics addressed by Ruth Sansom include Sansom's unpublished work, his attitude to the Quakers and his production of T.B. Morris's play 'I Will Arise'. Mention is made of the Sansoms' association and friendship with Allan Keeling, Nan Chauncy, Martin Miles, Margaret Rutherford, Robert Gittings, Nan Delaney and Paul Scott. This file includes Sansom's letter to the Australian on the subject of arts grants (17 February 1969).

Collection consists of letters written by Olive Pink to John Hargrave during the years 1956 to 1974. Written from Home Hut, Native Flora Reserve, Alice Springs. John Hargrave addressed variously as Dr Hargrave, Sir, Grandson, Boy, Nungari, John Hargrave, Yabulla/Yabbula/Yabbulla.

1973 Collins Australian diary, red

Cream folder containing letters to and from Rodney and Joan Bennett. These letters (predominantly from 1936-1948) focus on Sansom and R. Bennett's individual writing and their collaboration with school texts. The most recent letter is dated 23/11/73. The folder includes one letter from Winifred Scott about Sansom's "Speech Rhymes", and part of a letter from an unidentified correspondent.
