Farm accounts dated 1872 to December1383. Accounts including: wages for reaping, building, fencing, ploughing etc., sales of wheat, purchases of flour, tobacco, sugar, tea etc. Also stock account and record of foaling (Diamond, Gypsy, Blossom) 1878-83. The accounts are mainly those of George Marshall but the later ones were kept by D. Marshall, including accounts of the estate of the late G. Marshall. Added at front: 'Indian sauce from Horace R. Spearman, 13 Feb. 1896' (recipe).

Shipping agreement, 21 August 1884. Memorandum of agreement between W. Crosby & Co., Macfarlane Bros. & Co. and McGregor Piesse & Co. to divide equally profits and commissions on loading of ships in direct trade between Hobart & London.

Collection consists of one parchment deed dated 15th January 1884. Conveyance of two roods of land in Emu Bay, Tasmania, from George and Alfred Rouse, of Emu Bay, to the Van Diemen's Land Company for a railway line, with marginal plan.

Affectionate letters written before marriage (1881) and a few later. Including a letter written on the back of a letter from J. Lyne to Councillor E.0. Cotton: Road Board's thanks for his trouble over main roads dated 13 July 81 (15.7.81). Letters addressed to Helen (as Dear Helen or Helen Love) at W.E. Shoobridge, New Norfolk. Letter of 8.5.81 gives views on plain weddings - he and Sarah had wanted "damper
wedding" (as in simple or "damper" picnics), Helen helped with the birth of Annie Shoobridge's baby (31.8.81) - mother Ann Mather grateful, rough plan of the interior of Kelvedon (23.8.81 ), reference to Eliza - brought up by Cottons but "bolted with the handsome Portuguese negro Gomez" - a "fine animal and no more (23.10.81 & 28.10.81 ).

Collection consists of photocopies of three letters and two pamphlets bound into four volumes. The family papers remain in the possession of the family and include diaries and work notebooks of John Waldie, jun. c.1854-1896; agreements over timber and land, accounts and receipts 1856-1892, letter from W.C.Blyth 1869, letter to his mother 184S, letters from John Waldie senior 1822, 1832, 1833 and letters to Delia Waldie from Mary Quinn 1883.
